CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

As many of you know, I was a Girl Friday over at CAS-ual Fridays Challenge blog.  I had a blast being on the team and I dearly love my friend Michele!  So I was thrilled when she asked me to stay on, but this time I'll be a Girl Friday over on the Ink Squad.  I get to play with her new stamps each month and join an amazing group of girls on the design team!

I am going to share a new card and an old favorite today!  This first card uses a stamp from Beanstalks and a sentiment from Calm and Gentle.

I just added a little watercolor crayon around the edged of the beanstalk and then pulled the color out with a water brush.

This next one is an old favorite.  I LOVE the font on this sentiment!  These images are from Truth Is

Stop over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp blog to see who else is there!  Lots of super talented ladies!  I am thrilled to be designing along side them!

Happy Day!

This is my second post for the day.  Scroll down to see my CSS post.

We are all in the house for day 4 of Operation Snow Day.  Just got in from playing outside.  We had one of those old Turtle Sandboxes, so we took the lid and tied it to the Mule.  I drove them around the yard and down the road.  We had a ball but my fingers are a little stiff as I type this.  (Oh, and let me clarify about the Mule.  Some of you are picturing an actual mule.  But it's not.  It's the motorized kind.  A Kawasaki.  I do live in the country.  I did marry a farm boy.  But I do not own a mule....the four legged kind at least.)  :)

So I decided this morning to play along with the AE challenge again.  The inspiration picture is one I have used before and so I was excited to try it again.  Here is my card...

IMG_9385

I cut the flowers and the leaves all from my Cameo.  For the Chevron, I cut out a chevron pattern on my Cameo, too, and then inked in the spaces.  This saved so much time and I didn't even have to worry about lining up the chevron perfectly.

I centered the card under the stencil and then taped the stencil down directly to a white piece of typing paper.  Then I took a sponge and some yellow ink and sponged the ink into place.  The sentiment is from the AE Alphabet called Lovely Letters

I like the soft look it gave too.  It would be so versatile, because you can sponge lighter or darker, or even with different colors!  Hmmm...I better go try that one next!  :)

Here is the AE Inspiration Photo...

ETA: I am also turned this in to the Moxie Fab Chevron Challenge!  :)

Isn't it gorgeous?  I want this on my patio!  Not right now though...too much snow!  :)

Hope you are having a great day!

Stamped borders and a Farewell...

It's group post day over at Clear and Simple Stamps.  Today's challenge is all about using borders.  Or making borders.  I have created a simple edge to my CAS card using the new Medallion stamps and a little scoring...

IMG_9378

I aslo created a matching envelope...

IMG_9379

I want to take this time to thank Clear and Simple for everything!  I have been on the team for 1 1/2 years and I have had a ball!  Today is my last post, as I have decided to step down. I have made some great friends on the CSS team and will miss them so much!

You can stop over to the Clear and Simple blog to see what the other girls have created!

Thanks for coming by today!  Have a great day!

Monogrammed.

Blog-hop-logo

The PTI blog hop is today with a super fun theme.  Monogrammed cards.  I love it!  I love taking fun alphabet stamps and personalizing cards and gifts.  I thought I would pull out an old favorite of mine.  If you follow my blog you know I loving call her "Mindy".  hehe!  This Mehndi Medallion set is one of my all time faves!  And I think it makes for a fun monogrammed card too....

IMG_9365

I used a circle die that fit perfectly inside and then added an "L" from Fresh Alphabet.  (Another of my all time faves!)  For some added texture, I ran it though using a lined impression plate.

We are snowed in again today.  The blizzard is on like donkey kong.  So I am headed straight to see what everyone else is up to today!  Hope you have a great day!  Thanks for stoppin in!

Spring wishes...

Since we are closed to snowed in....not really but it feels like it.  This was my deck the other day....

I have had some extra crafty time and got to make this....

IMG_9346

This flower is from the SSS January Kit set, Like your Style.  I heat embossed and then distress ink'd them all up.  I layered them with some green leaves.  I was going for bright springy colors, because lets face it....I want spring.  Like yesterday.

We have had some serious snow fun though!  Lots of snow ice cream....

ETA: Yep!  Snow Ice cream!  2 cups milk, 3/4 cup of sugar, 1 tbsp Vanilla all mixed in a big bowl and then add snow until you get the right consistency!  Yummy!!  (You can also use Condensed milk) :)

Yum!

Lots of red faces and red noses...

The kids already had Thursday and Friday off, but the rest of the state had snow days!  The forecast is saying we are in for a bunch more, so we have the fire place going and we are ready for the possibility of yet another snow day.  I am kinda hoping they are wrong...which happens a lot! :)

I hope you have a fantastic week!  Stay warm, or cool wherever you are!

A Retro Sketch Love Fest...

Happy Saturday!  I have a card here today for 2 combined challenges.  I made this card based on THIS sketch over at Retro Sketches and a color combo challenge over on SCS for the Love Fest!

This sketch marks the 1 year anniversary of Retro Sketches!  I started with RS when they were on their 2nd sketch.  Wow!  Time has flown by!  Arielle put all the sketches together in one easy place.  Such a great source of inspiration for sure!  Click HERE to see #1-52.

Here is my card using sketch #9 and the Verve Color combo challenge, of Verve's signature colors (Teal and Brown) with the addition of yellow (or pink).

IMG_9342

I used the new set from Verve called So Fluttery.  The sentiment is from Surely Goodness.  I added in some brown pearls to finish it off.

Here is the sketch I chose for this week, but you can go pick any sketch from the first year.  HERE is a great way to find and pick your sketch!

The original post for this #9 sketch is HERE.

You must check out the Love Fest too! Click HERE to see more!

Have a great Saturday!

Verve Spotlight Hop Day 4

Welcome to the last day of our February 2013 Spotlight Hops!  Everything you see previewed along today's hop will be available inVerve's online store today!

I have a couple more cards to share with you today.  This first one uses a sentiment from Shining Star and the Starry dies.

IMG_9329

I simply cut the dies out of the card front and then took those die cut stars, and colored them with Copics.  This way I didn't have to run them all through with different card stock colors.  Fun huh?

This next card uses a new Plain Jane, You Make Me Smile.  I masked off the "you" and used Verve's I heart u die instead.  I added some a little chevron pattern from the Borderlines set.  Then to finish it off, I added in some black pearls and a resin rose bud.

IMG_9325

I also have one more card for the Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge...

I love this CAS sketch by Janelle!  In this card, I used one of the new Scalloped Trim Trio Borders and the largest banner from the new Banner Bundle.

Just thinking about you...

Stopping in today with a little CAS-ual Friday stamp action.  I am using a beautiful sentiment from the new set called Beanstalks.  I used a couple things on this card that are pretty new to me!  1. Gold embossing powder.  If you would have asked me last year if I would have ever used this stuff, I would have said NO.  2. Sequins.  How fun are these?  Its just another level of bling that I dearly love so much.  Here is my card...

Hope you are having a relaxing Sunday!  I think I am going to stay in this room all day...and make stuff.  :)
