A little trip...

(A not-so-crafty post, just to share a few several photos!)

My blog has been a little quiet lately because I've been on a fun little trip! I'm actually blogging from my phone right now just to share a few of my favorite pictures. So please excuse any grammar or spelling issues! :)

My sister Stephanie and I just flew from Denver to Portland to surprise our sister Michelle!

(insert happy Michelle picture....) :)

The three of us spent a couple days at Cannon Beach, Oregon. Let me just tell you. This was fabulous! Quiet, cool but not cold. And oh so gorgeous! Here are a few pictures I took with my phone.

Here is the house and it's front yard...

Here is more of the gorgeous view...

This is the inside of the house.  (I didn't get a picture of the cute Ikea kitchen.)

I had to do one of those "write your name in the sand" pics too, you know!

I could look at this forever...

Does this rock look familiar to anyone?

Well if it does, you may be a Goonies fan like me!  We were like serious Goonie nerds here.  You can't park by the house, but you can park in the street and walk up the hill.

Here is a dorky half-face photo of me in front of the Goonie house...and NO.  I did not do the truffle shuffle.  ;)

And the whole house now....

These guys were chillin down the hill from the Goondocks....

This big bridge we had to drive across, just so we could say we went to Washington too!

Starting the day this way was totally good for the soul.....

And one more picture (my favorite picture from the whole trip...taken by my phone no less...) of the 3 chairs that we sat in, just staring at the ocean.

Here are 2 more fun panoramic shots of the beach and the row of houses...

Ok, I hope I haven't bored you with all these pictures!  I just had to share what I've been up to!  Hope you are all doing well!  I have had several emails about the dies.  I am going to put my Paypal button back in the sidebar here soon!  Thanks for visiting today!  Have a great weekend!

I am thrilled to be joining the team over at Avery Elle today.  Jamie has some fun new sets coming up and I have a little sneak peak of one of the sets.  First off, here is my card..

IMG_9472

I used one of the new background images to create this fun, modern background.  I stamped it in white ink on a gray base and then added in a sentiment from Framed Fonts on black card stock.  I used the AE cut files to create the frame and the mat for my sentiment.

Keep hopping and check out these girls and their new Avery Elle creations....

Here is my first card...

I embossed the arrows with white embossing powder and then used my Lyra Watercolor crayons to make the ombre effect.  I added in a fun little sentiment to finish it off.

For the next card, I had to add in a fun little chalkboard...

I love those images.  So cute!  Thanks for stopping in today!  Hope you are having a great day!

Merci...

It's day 3 of sneaks at CAS-ual Fridays.  Today, Michele has another fun set with some fun sentiments and cool background images.  I did a little embossing on black cardstock for a fun focal point....

IMG_9465

I added it to a gray base with a little vellum stamped sentiment.  The sentiment comes from Big Thanks Kinda modern and graphic!  I like it!  :)

Check out the rest of the DT and their samples at the CAS-ual Fridays blog.  So glad you could come by again!  Have great Wednesday!

Ka-Boom!

Welcome back to day 2 of sneaks from CAS-ual Friday Stamps! Today's set is such a fun and unique set.  It's called Ka-boom!  I have to cards to share with you.

This first card I made my own little firecrackers out of paper party straws....

IMG_9467

This was originally one red and white striped straw and then I colored the white parts in with a Copic.  I added some yellow Karen Foster scrappers floss for the wick. I attached the 3 straws to a piece of score-tape and then attached to the card front.

This next card is a super CAS card showcasing another fun sentiment and image from the set...

IMG_9447

These sentiments are such a nice size.  Not to big, not to small!  You will have to go and check out with the other girls have made up for us today.  Stop over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see more!

Thanks for coming by today!

Yay!

It's Sneak Peek time over at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!  Michele has an adorable new set to share today called Exclamations.  It's filled with some super fun sentiments and images.  I pulled out some ink colors I don't normally use (all Amuse) and got to work...

IMG_9446

I randomly stamped these images with the 3 colors in this diagonal pattern and then added in the sentiment in black.  To give it a little dimension, I added in some Stickles to a few spots.  Easy peasy!

The girls on the Ink Squad have lots more to share!  Check out the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp blog to see more!

Thanks for stopping in today!  Come back tomorrow for more sneak peeks!  :)

Groovy...

This week has totally flown by!  We are counting down the days till Spring Break!  Do you have anything fun planned?  Not sure what we are going to do here yet, but I am thinking up some fun things to keep the kiddos busy!

Retro Sketches has a new sketch today.  It is based off of one of my older cards that you can see HERE.  Here is my take on this card sketch...

IMG_9455

My friend Jen recently designed this AMAZING embossing plate so I had to pull that out and use it for the first time!  I ran it through with some patterned paper and used the plain side.  I took some sanding paper and sanded a little so the white core would show through.  I layered it up with some matching patterned paper and then a fun sentiment from Surely Goodness, a new set from Verve!

Here is this week's sketch...

Stop over to the Retro Sketch blog to see what the girls created for today.  I hope you get to play along too!  Thanks for stopping in!

Thinking of you...

I am so excited to be a guest over at Neat and Tangled this month!  This latest Neat and Tangled Releases is one of my favorites so far!  On the Strip 2 and Just Thinking of you?  Fabulous!  I have a card today to share, combining the 2 sets...

IMG_9442

When I saw that woodgrain strip, I saw a wood background staring at me!  I stamped it several times on kraft card stock and the cut the strips out with my paper trimmer. Then I inked up the edges to give it more of a rustic look.  I added in the word bubble and a heart for some color.

IMG_9443

I've said it several time before but I love the font in Danielle's sets!  Gorgeous!  Here is my request for a Neat and Tangled Sentiment set all in that gorgeous handwriting of yours, Danielle!  :)

Thanks so much for having me today!  Thanks for stopping in to take a peak!  Have a great Friday!

Sweet Stamp Shop Release...

Are you loving this chalkboard trend that is so popular right now? Then you are going to love the stamps I have to share today!  I am so excited to be here today among a line up of fabulous guest designers over at Sweet Stamp Shop.  Nicole has 2 adorable sets to share today, Kiss Me and Chalkboard Sign.

The first card showcases an image from Chalkboard Sign....

ssspic2

I simply stamped the image using white ink on black card stock.  Then I matted it with some fun chevron paper and attached it to a kraft base.

This next card uses the most adorable arrow image from Chalkboard Sign and the heart from Kiss me....

ssspic1

I cut out the target border with my Cameo and then stamped the arrows inside.  I stamped the heart in red ink, onto red card stock and cut that out, popping it up with foam tape for some dimension.

I have had some sneak peeks at some other amazing cards so you should stop over and check them out too!  Click HERE to go straight to the Sweet Stamp Shop blog!  :)

Thanks for stopping in today!
